S&S Power, Inc., the world's leading manufacturer of
vertical amusement rides, is based in the scenic
Rocky Mountain college town of Logan, UT. In early
1994, S&S began manufacturing and distributing the
Space ShotŪ vertical amusement ride. The
Space Shot air launches passengers up a standard
185' tower and gently bounces them back to the
starting position.
Featured Project: Cedar Point, Sandusky, OH. The Cedar Point Sports Tower is a massive
300-foot tall amusement ride powered completely by compressed
air. It consists of four 240-foot tall towers topped
with connecting arches. Two of the towers blast riders
up the structure while two will thrust riders down -
all in 3 seconds at more than 50 mph. The ride opened
in 1998 as the tallest ride of its kind in the world
and was listed in the 1999 edition of The Guinness Book
of World Records as the tallest free-fall ride in the
world.
